As you may have noticed, our home has been undergoing some changes over the last 10 months, receiving a fresh new look and feel. Renovations started in April 2022, and we’ve come a long way. Whether it’s having a beer with mates, catching the Aussies hit some sixes in the summer or getting a feed with the family, we wanted to make you feel like you are still in the beachy parts of Australia while keeping our RUC roots.
The Dining Area
By creating over 40% more space for our members, our dining area is one section that received the biggest restructuring. The area now features air conditioning, banquette seating alongside high bar tables and stools. The additional space created in the dining area makes it much more accommodating to families and groups who come in for dinner and drinks to catch up.
The bar also has a refreshed look which compliments its surroundings. The update includes a longer bar, new furniture, TVs, new back bar, with better lighting, enhancing the atmosphere inside the club.
Canberra’s Biggest and Best Deck
Our big deck has had some upgrades too, with new flooring, hand rail and furniture. We’ve also added a deck as an extension of our sporting lounge, equipped with 3 big-screen TVs and an outdoor sound system. The shaded area allows you to enjoy sport all year round with your friends, while getting some fresh air, minus the heatstroke and sunburn. The new area has a great view of the back greens and Haig Park, with plenty of seating perfect for relaxing after a hard day’s work, or a big night.
To add a cherry on top, the connected sports lounge has also had an upgrade. Keep up to date on all your favourite sports and the biggest races with ease and pleasure.
The Pool Room
Stay tuned for our new pool room fitout, which will include a gallery wall with some of your favourite local community clubs and signed jerseys honouring those amazing teams and clubs we sponsor here in the Inner North. You can find a full list of our community clubs via our website.
Canberra’s Most Iconic Collaboration
We’d also like to thank Grease Monkey for providing their amazing food truck and staff to sling burgers and fried chicken to everyone who came to the RUC while our kitchen was undergoing renovations. Our kitchen is now fully updated and our main menu back in full swing.
